WHERE DID IT BEGIN?
Rockingham Road Baptist Church was set up as a Mission
outreach to Oakley Street by the Fuller Baptist Church in 1892.
It became a church in its own right on Dec 1st 1945.
The main sanctuary seats around 140 people.
In common with all the churches who are members of The
Baptist Union of Great Britain we hold to the following
Declaration of Principle :
|
1)
|
That our Lord Jesus Christ, God manifest in the
flesh, is the sole and absolute authority in all
matters pertaining to faith and practice, as
revealed in the Holy Scriptures, and that each
church has liberty under the guidance of the
Holy Spirit, to interpret and administer His
laws.
|
|
2)
|
That Christain Baptism is through immersion in water
in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the
Holy Spirit, for those who have professed
repentance towards God and faith in our Lord
Jesus Christ who "died for our sins according to
the Scriptures; was buried and rose again on the
third day".
|
|
3)
|
That it is the duty of every follower of Jesus to bear
witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to
take part in evangelisation of the world. |
